Why Allkinds?
At Allkinds we make skincare, haircare, bath, body and self-care products for kids and teens that help them feel their best every day.
Allkinds is the first self-care brand globally that has been purpose-built for Gen Alpha. It’s from this deep understanding that we developed a range specifically to support skin that’s growing up.
We make genuinely good products that have been carefully formulated for teen skin – made in Australia, dermatologically tested, totally vegan, no gross stuff.
Our products are gentle-yet-effective. They’ve been carefully formulated specifically for teens’ skin type and concerns.
That means:
- Expertly formulated and made here in Australia
- Made with gentle and age-appropriate ingredients
- Dermatologically tested
- Free from known skin irritants like parabens and SLS/SLES, and are not formulated with inappropriately high levels of active ingredients
The goal for us is helping kids and teens achieve and maintain healthy skin. Not because TikTok told them to — but because we want them to develop good skincare habits which is the pathway to healthy skin. Teens don't need a ten step regime, they just need a simple, gentle and effective routine.
When it comes to skin, our message is simple. Cleanse. Moisturise. Protect.
And, because we also know the importance of making it fun (because who sticks to a boring routine?!) we’ve added fun extras too like headbands, mists and masks or products like a spot gel for additional skin needs, all with the same teen-appropriate ingredients and formulations.
What we like to talk about is healthy skin.
Kids and teens simply do not need active anti-ageing ingredients, such as Vitamin A or its derivatives (such as retinoids and retinol), Vitamin C, or high-dose acids. These ingredients can irritate sensitive young skin, damage the skin barrier and lead to short- or long-term skin challenges such as burns, eczema flare ups, and acne.
Your Skin Questions, Answered!
There are a looottt of changes that happen in puberty. And most of them, including the changes to your skin, have to do with hormones. Essentially your body starts producing way more of the hormone that affects the glands that control your oil production (tech term: sebum). This causes it to go into overdrive and get a little crazy producing more oil. The production of oil can make your skin appear greasy, and can also be one of things that contributes to pimples (more on that below).
The first thing you should know is that pimples happen to almost everyone and it’s totally not your fault. Most of the time, it’s to do with those hormones (read about them above) and the over-excited oil glands producing too much sebum. This, combined with the hormones messing with your natural skin shedding function can lead to clogged pores, which lead to — you guessed it — pimples.
The actual pimples are a mixture of a kinda gross combo of oil, dead skin cells and bacteria in the pores which get inflamed (that’s why they swell and get red) and fill with pus.
Both blackheads and whiteheads occur when a pore becomes blocked by all that stuff above. The difference is that with a pimple, or “whitehead”, they have a really thin layer of skin over the top (science types call that a “closed comedone”). Whereas blackheads don’t have this layer (which is why the sciencey-peeps called them “open comedone”), so they get exposed to the air, which causes a chemical reaction known as “oxidisation” — and this turns them black.
This is a tricky question, because it’s not like starting school — you don’t have to start at any age. But the thing is, building a healthy routine from a young age is a great way to get into positive habits so your skin has its best chance of thriving when you hit your teens. The key is to start small — young skin does not need much. Just a simple cleanse-and-moisturise routine is plenty to start, then when you go through puberty you might like to add in some treatment options (like a spot treatment or a serum mist) depending on your skin type and skin concerns.
Ohhh good question! Ok, so you know how there’s things you do every day, almost without thinking because they’re a habit, and you know they’re good for you? Think: brushing your teeth, eating a good breakfast, drinking water (you do these, right?!) This is one of those. The daily skincare routine is like a little ritual you can do every morning and night to look after yourself and help your skin live its best stress-free life.
A very simple, easy place to start is a cleanse and moisturise routine. Cleansing removes all the dirt, build-up, pollution, sweat and grime from the day. Moisturising helps the skin feel soft, smooth and in balance. It’s so simple, it takes like five minutes, and your skin will totally thank you for it.
If your skin is pretty chill and in balance — this is all you need to do! If you’re in your teens and it’s starting to freak out a little bit (which is soooo normal, so don’t worry!) it’s all good, you can just start adding in treatment products like a spot treatment or a serum mist to help your skin along.
Aside from products, you can keep your skin in A++ shape by staying healthy (that means eating your veg, drinking water, and getting regular exercise) as well as doing things that will help you chill out and have down-time (stress is totally the enemy of good skin). Also, and this may seem like a weird one but, change your pillowcase regularly (like once a week) as lots of grime and bacteria can live on that (ew). Another easy thing you can do – keep your hair off your face and avoid touching your face throughout the day.
Oh and one more thing: remember, getting spots, having oil — all of it — is totally normal. Everyone goes through it so don’t feel like you’re alone — we’re in this together.
About the Allkinds Ingredients
Here’s the thing: not all skincare ingredients were created equal. And not all ingredients are made for – or are good for – skin like yours. Lucky for us we have MANY different people who have fancy university degrees and do science for a job, and they created our products with your skin in mind. So, they’ve only put in the very best, most effective stuff for your skin type. Things like powerhouses of natural and science-backed active (yet gentle) ingredients are added to make formulations that are dermatologically tested, pH balanced and free from gross stuff.
Harsh chemicals: We opt for gentle, science-backed ingredients that are safe for your skin.
Comedogenic ingredients: We don't add ingredients that clog your pores.
These ingredients may work for adults, but they’re not ideal for teen skin!
We don't use:
Animal derived ingredients
Triclosan
Triethanolamine (TEA)

Each is designed for a different type of skin, so the ingredients were specifically chosen to help with that skin type or concern. Here are some of the standouts, and what they do.
The Classic Care range is all about balance and hydration. In the cleanser there’s pore refining Kaolin to gently exfoliate dead skin and debris from skin’s surface and to absorb oils and impurities. This sits alongside Sugarbeet Extract to help strengthen and maintain skin’s natural moisture barrier for smoother, softer skin and Vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant that nourishes and moisturises dry skin. These are complemented by the moisturiser which has a whole host of hydrating and nourishing ingredients as well as Jojoba for skin barrier function and a combination of Vitamin E and Shea Butter to moisturise and nourish.
The Gentle Care range contains ultra gentle soothing actives like Aloe Vera and Marigold Flower Extract (to sooth and calm), Chamomile Extract (gentle and calming) and Vitamin E. The purpose with this range especially is to make sure the skin is in balance and doesn’t get upset by any of the ingredients which is why it’s also fragrance free (fragrance can really annoy sensitive skin).
The Clearing Care range is designed to help bring the skin back into balance and to unclog those pesky pores. In the cleanser you’ll find Salicylic Acid, which helps to unclog pores, reduce pimples and redness and calm the skin. There’s also Lemon Myrtle Extract, to help reduce the appearance of shine and calm skin with its antioxidant properties, plus, like the other two ranges it’s also got soothing Marigold Flower Extract and nourishing Vitamin E. In addition to all of the above the moisturiser also contains Canadian Willowherb to help reduce redness and fight pimple-causing bacteria.
Part of growing up is knowing what your skin likes and doesn't like so it's really important that you patch test it.
1. Apply a pea size amount to your forearm and leave it for 5-10 mins.
2. If it feels warm, tingly or stings, or leaves a red mark, discontinue use immediately.
3. If it feels good, and there's no irritation, then you're good to go!
Your Product Questions, Answered!
While our products are safe for adults, we have specifically formulated our products with kids (over the age of 5) & teens in mind.
The first thing on the very good skin list is cleansing twice a day.
In the morning, it helps to keep oil at bay and remove any sweat from the night before, kinda like a shower for your face. Plus, it leaves your skin clean, fresh and ready for the next step.
At night cleansers remove all the ew your skin collects during the day – that’s dirt, grime, excess oil, sweat, suncreen and pollution. This is important because leaving all that junk on your face can create congestion and block your pores which can lead to breakouts.
First of all, let’s back up for a bit and explain what a serum is, and what it actually does for you. A serum is a skincare product that is applied after a cleanser and before a moisturiser. It usually contains what we call powerful active ingredients (or, “actives” in skincare speak) that target specific skin concerns.
To get all science on you for a second; the reason they’re so powerful is because of their high concentration of ingredients and the molecule size which means it can get deep down into the skin to do all the good work. The “good work”, in this case, is treating specific skin concerns, which could be anything from lack of moisture to dullness, blemishes to uneven skin tone.
Most of these skin worries probably aren’t an issue for you now — they’re things that mostly come with getting older. Alongside all the other boring adult stuff like working and having to make your own breakfast, when you get older your skin starts to act differently, and begins to slow production of stuff like collagen and elastin which help keep it healthy and glowy. Because the body doesn’t produce as much anymore you can top the skin up with ingredients found in serums.
Here’s the good news: your skin has PLENTY of the good stuff (yep, it’s awesome like that), so this is something that you can probably park for the next 10 years, because serums are generally made for adult skin with adult issues.
But! There is an exception. Wanna know what it is? A serum, made for teen skin, with teen skin issues. And naturally, we were the ones to make it.
It might seem kinda weird to put cream on especially if your skin is oily, but here’s the thing: moisturising can actually help balance your skin out. That’s because when it’s happy, moisturised and hydrated it won’t try to go crazy in overproduction mode and create more oil. Find a moisturiser that’s best for your skin type, so if you’re on the oily side, go for an oil-free, lightweight version, or sensitive skin types should try a super gentle one.
Well, a lot actually. It’s actually the queen of all skin products, especially in Australia. Apply in the morning and reapply frequently during the day to protect your skin from all the UV damage that’s responsible for a lot of very un-fun skin stuff. Trust us, your skin will thank you.
If you are using both the cleanser and the moisturiser for morning and night routines, then it should last you approximately 2 months. This is based on using 1 full pump for each use.
It's best to store your products in a cool, dry place.
1. Apply a pea size amount to your forearm and leave it for 5-10 mins.
2. If it feels warm, tingly or stings, or leaves a red mark, discontinue use immediately.
3. If it feels good, and there's no irritation, then you're good to go!
Great news! You can head into stores to ask the store team members for a sample to try out. We also have mini sets available for purchase which has 30mL tubes of cleanser and moisturiser so that you can try it out and make sure you love it before committing to the full size product.
